Paint Me Like One of Your House Pets
Because nothing says "I'm thriving" like a DIY shrine to your pet!
Service Description
Finally- a socially acceptable reason to stare at your pet for 2+ hours. Upon booking, you'll email us at Birdettestampa@gmail.com with your favorite close up shot of your furry, feathered, or even scaly companion. Profile shots are the real bread-winners, but as long as you ensure that the photo you've chosen for reference is clear, well lit, and focuses on the face- we'll be peachy! Before your session, we'll lightly pre-sketch their glorious face using your reference photo onto an 8x10 sheet of heavy weight, 100% cotton, artist grade paper. No stress. No weird proportions. When you arrive for your 'pawtrait' session, you'll: -Choose a frame from our curated collection of thrifted and vintage gems (think less Ikea, more "my grandmother was heckin' cool"). -Find your already set-up station by looking for your pet's printed photo- it's basically assigned seating, but in an emotionally significant way, -Settle in with everything you need: Your pre-sketched portrait waiting for you on a tabletop easel, the printed reference photo, acrylic paints, brushes, a wooden hand palette, a reusable cloth for brush wiping, and a water cup (for the brushes, not hydration, we have a whole canned beverage menu for that). You can also choose to paint a mat for the border (like in the photo above), just let us know when you send the reference photo so we can ensure that our pre-sketch fits properly within the confines of a mat! You can go minimalist, folky, maximalist. Neon pink, cheetah print. We believe in your vision and that's all that matters! The whole thing will be about 2 hours long and super low pressure- I'll float around offering tips and giving some general guidance, but this isn't a step-by-step paint-along. It's more of a "trust your gut, it's probably a great color" kind of session. At the end you'll leave with: - A framed portrait of your pet that YOU painted all by your dang self - A massive sense of accomplishment - And possibly a new hyper-specific personality trait No experience needed, just an unhealthy obsession with your pet! What's Next? - Book the session date that works best for you (we set up a couple). - Email us that photo, ideally immediately, but at the very least no later than 4 days before your scheduled class so we have time to sketch some magic. Include whether you want a mat so we can ensure we've left room, and please put your name, your pets name, and your session date in the "subject" line. - Anxiously await the date!
Upcoming Sessions
Cancellation Policy
- If you can't make it to your session, please contact us at least 72 hours in advance. While we cannot supply a refund, we will try our hardest to reschedule you for the next class with availability. However, if you don't let us know and we don't see you there, we'll be forced to assume that you were eaten by an alligator which will forfeit the opportunity to reschedule that a quick email would net you. - Pricing is per-person. Please do not bring your friend to 'watch and vibe'. We're sure your friends are all awesome, and we definitely DO want to meet them, but space is limited and you'll have new friends to meet here, with us! - No outside food or drink allowed. While the booking does not include food or beverages, we do have fresh drinking water and a free hot tea station, as well as light snacks, cookies, and canned beverages available for purchase, many of which are multi-allergen free. - Any questions beyond this policy list (which just so you know, we hate that we have to write it as much as you hate reading it)- please email or text us and we'll get back as quickly as possible!
